Important Update Regarding the King Township Minor Hockey Negotiations

Notice of Special Meeting of the Membership on February 21, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Nobleton Arena Upstairs Hall.

After several months of hard work, the negotiating committees of both Schomberg and NobleKing Minor Hockey are pleased to report that the process of creating a framework for a King Township Minor Hockey Partnership has reached a successful conclusion. This past weekend, the Ontario Minor Hockey Association provided its final approval to the parties for the negotiated framework, subject to final agreement by the Local Memberships. Both negotiating committees are proud of the end result, which creates a balanced framework that will allow both hometown community teams at the local level, as well as a combined Township competitive Rep program, to grow and thrive in King Township. The final decision on this matter will be up to you – our Members. Over the coming days, the final negotiated deal will be reviewed and voted on by the two Local Association Boards. Subject to that approval, the Associations have called Special Meetings of their Memberships for February 21, so that a final vote can be taken regarding the approval of this proposal. A majority of 2/3 of eligible Members present will be required for this proposal to pass. The relevant documents being considered are linked below, and available for download from the Association’s website. A Joint Communication from the Association Presidents is also attached, providing a high level explanation of this proposal. Over the coming days, we will be providing a short executive summary of the agreement’s key points, to help educate Members about the key features of this proposed Partnership. We look forward to your participation in the Special Members Meeting and are available to answer any questions you might have. All members are encouraged to submit any questions in advance to [email protected]. Any submitted questions will be discussed at the Special Meeting.
